February 2, 2007: Washington County Deputy Sheriff's Association Makes Donation
In 2006 The Washington County Deputy Sheriff’s Association held a fundraiser in collaboration with Encore Concert Promotions. Proceeds from this fundraiser have been donated to various organizations throughout Washington County to help with community safety and awareness programs. Chris Killey, WCDSA President, presented Sheriff Dale Schmidt with a $5,500 donation to the Washington County D.A.R.E. program and a $100 donation to the Washington County “Shop with a Cop” program. Additionally, other proceeds were used to create a scholarship program for Washington County high school seniors who intend on pursuing law enforcement related careers.

The Washington County Deputy Sheriff's Association is pleased to announce that the 2008 scholarships were awarded to Cori Whipple and Deborah Sandleback.
We wish both Cori and Deborah good luck as they embark on the studies necessary to begin their Criminal Justice careers!
These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of local citizens that have participated in the WCDSA Annual Benefit Concert and fund raiser.
